There were several challenges in this long balcony space in the University Center. It had become somewhat of a no-man's land, a pass-through, and a forgotten focus.

We chose to make it instead a more luxurious alternative to the down-stairs student union. With its soft leather sofas, wing-back accent chairs, feature photo art, and challenging sculpture, it is now a "higher ground" study center, chess-playing location, and ideal space for small meetings and receptions. Both students and staff now enjoy the richer colors and improved lighting.
