The challenge in this separate guest suite was how to design a space filled with many unique family treasures that did not necessarily coordinate. The secret was to turn the negative into a positive. We chose to design the space in a whimsical manner complete with a bird's nest bed and coordinating lighting. It features many family treasures including the hand-made quilt and several pieces of antique furniture. The unusual sofa bed belonged to the home-owner's grandmother. Here, too, we chose fantasy and imagination over traditional. The sofa bed was fully restored in seven different fabrics and adds to the whimsy of the room. Window treatments feature "eye lash" fabric on the Roman shades. The home-owner's hand-made rugs complete the fantasy room for delighted weekendguests...
